The University of California team speculated by histological immunostaining that repopulated microglia might be differentiated from a class of cells that transiently express Nestin in the brain. In addition, the Peng Bo team also explained the possible mechanism of cell re-colonization by single-cell RNA sequencing technology, and found that the repopulation microglia and the primary microglia are highly similar in function by whole brain RNA sequencing.
