The main technical measures for the prevention of damping-off are as follows:

1. Determine the appropriate sowing date. In the spring, the weather is fickle and should be sown in relatively high temperature weather and properly broadcast. The seed will grow faster and the seedlings will be relatively thick, which will reduce the occurrence of damping-off disease to some extent.

2. Bed soil disinfection. The nutritious soil for nursery use must be kept for a long period of time. It is best to pass through a hot, humid summer and be sealed with formalin. Before bed soil is used, it can be disinfected with 50% carbendazim WP or 64% WP, in the range of 8 to 10 g/m2 (usually mixed with 4 to 5 kg fine soil). Before sowing, first soak the bottom water, and after the water seeps, take 1/3 of the medicine soil on the seedbed, then sow the seed that has germinated, and finally cover with the remaining 2/3 of the medicine soil.

3. Seed disinfection. You can use warm water soaking, liquid soaking or powder dressing and other methods for disinfection.

4. Strengthen seedbed management. Immediately after the emergence of the seedlings, the covered film and straw were removed, and ventilation was conducted to reduce the temperature and humidity. Move the seedlings into the pods in a timely manner. When they enter the pupa, pay attention not to damage the stems of the seedlings, so as to avoid causing human wounds to cause pathogenic bacterial infections. After the seedlings have survived, they should be ventilated in time to cultivate strong seedlings and reduce the temperature and humidity of the seedbeds so that the seedlings will receive more sunlight.

5. Prompt use of medication after onset. In the early stage of disease, if it is sunny weather, it is generally sprayed with medicaments. It can use 75% chlorothalonil wettable powder 600 times liquid, 50% carbendazim wettable powder 600 times liquid, or 64% antivirus WP 500 times Liquid, or 2% Kelu wettable powder 800 times spray control. If it is rainy weather, or if the humidity of the seedbed is high and the soil on the bed is wet, the spraying effect will be poor. At this time, dry medicine can be used to spread the soil in the seedbed, especially near the diseased seedlings. The formulation of the medicinal soil can refer to the formula for disinfecting the bed soil, and 75% chlorothalonil wettable powder can also be used for soil mixing.
