1 , meaning

Even if the same heat sealing temperature is set, the heat sealing temperature of the cigarette packaging film is not the same due to the difference of the heat sealing temperature control system of different cigarette wrapping machines. The heat sealing temperature range of the packaging film is narrow, and the heat sealing temperature range of the cigarette packaging machine can be narrowed. When the heat sealing temperature is set slightly higher, the surface of the packaging film is prone to shrinkage, which affects the appearance of the package, and the heat sealing temperature. A little lower will result in a lower heat seal strength and a tighter seal. Therefore, good heat sealing performance and suitable heat sealing parameters are necessary for ensuring reliable sealing of the cigarette pack seal.

2 , testing basis

This test is based on the heat seal strength of ASTM F2029 test samples at different heat seal temperatures to determine the appropriate heat seal temperature range for zui .

3 , test samples

This article uses a brand of cigarette packaging film as a test sample.

4 , test equipment

In this paper, the HST-H3 heat seal tester is used to heat seal the samples at different heat sealing temperatures, and the heat seal strength of the samples is detected by XLW (PC) intelligent electronic tensile tester. 4.1 Test principle

The heat sealing temperature, heat sealing pressure and heat sealing time are three heat sealing parameters closely related to the heat sealing strength. Fix the heat-sealing pressure and heat-sealing time, test the heat-sealing strength of the sample at different heat-sealing temperatures, and compare the surface state of the heat-sealed sample with the heat-sealing strength value to obtain a suitable heat-sealing temperature range of Zui. Two parameters can respectively obtain the appropriate heat sealing pressure and heat sealing time range.

4.2 Equipment parameters

(1) HST-H3 heat seal tester: heat seal temperature can be controlled to room temperature ~ 300 °C , temperature control accuracy is ±0.2 °C ; heat seal time adjustment range is 0.1 ~ 999.9s ; heat seal pressure control range is 0.05 MPa ~ 0.7 MPa . The upper and lower heat seal heads can independently control the temperature, and adopt digital PID temperature control technology to quickly reach the set temperature and effectively avoid temperature fluctuations. The use of the lower-mounted cylinder design ensures the stability of the instrument during operation and makes the sample evenly pressed during heat sealing. The manual and pedal test start mode is adopted, and the safety design of anti-scalding is configured to ensure the convenience and safety of the tester.

(2) XLW (PC) intelligent electronic tensile testing machine: 500 N , 50 N two kinds of force sensor are available. According to the relevant standards, the equipment provides seven test speeds of 50 mm/min , 100 mm/min , 150 mm/min , 200 mm/min , 250 mm/min , 300 mm/min and 500 mm/min , according to the test standard. 4.3 Scope of application

5 , the test process

5.1 heat seal

(1) 12 pieces of a sample of 8 cm × 10 cm were cut out from the surface of the sample film for smoking .

(2) Set the heat sealing time to 1s on the HST-H3 heat seal tester , the heat seal pressure to 0.18 MPa , and the heat seal temperature to 110 °C . After the equipment reaches the set temperature, take 2 samples, hot cover Contact and align, place the long edge between the two heat seal knives, step on the foot switch, and heat seal.

(3) The heat sealing temperature was set to 115 ° C , 120 ° C , 125 ° C , 130 ° C , and 135 ° C , respectively, and two samples were taken at each temperature for heat sealing test.

5.2 Heat seal strength test

(1) Edge direction perpendicular to the direction of the heat, good heat seal 6 from the set of samples taken were cut to a width of 15.0 mm sample strip 5.

(2) Set parameter information such as sample name, test speed (100 mm/min) , number of tests (30 times ) , and sample width (15.0 mm ) on the XLW (PC) intelligent electronic tensile testing machine .

(3) The free ends of one of the sample strips are respectively clamped in the upper and lower fixtures of the device, so that the heat seal portion is in the middle of the two clamps, and the longitudinal axis of the sample strip coincides with the center line of the two clamps. Option, the upper clamp moves upwards, the device displays the force value curve during the destruction of the heat seal part in real time, and reports the heat seal strength value after the test ends. Repeat the above loading process and click on the test operation until all 30 samples have been tested.

6 , test results

Take the average of the test values of 5 samples at each temperature as the heat seal strength at this temperature and record the test phenomenon:

The heat-sealing strength of the sample at 110 °C is 0.91 N/15mm , and the heat-sealed portion is flat; the heat-sealing strength of the sample at 115 °C is 3.87 N/15mm , and the heat-sealed portion is flat; the heat-sealing strength of the sample at 120 °C is 4.05 N/15mm , the heat-sealed part is flat; the heat-sealing strength of the sample is 4.01 N/15mm at 125 °C , and the heat-sealed part is flat; the heat-sealing strength of the sample at 130 °C is 4.09 N/15mm , and the heat-sealed part is flat; The heat-sealing strength of the sample at 135 °C was 3.46 N/15 mm , and the heat-sealed portion shrunk and broke at the root of the heat-sealed joint.

7 , conclusion

The heat-sealing strength of cigarette packaging film is an important factor affecting the sealing and bag breaking rate of cigarette packets. The heat sealing temperature of the sample is determined by testing the heat-sealing strength of cigarette packaging film samples at different heat-sealing temperatures.
