U.S. scientists first draw sketches of cattle genes

For the first time, U.S. scientists have drawn a sketch of cattle genes that will help reduce animal diseases and improve the quality of beef and milk products. The US Deputy Minister of Agriculture commented that this was "a major achievement in human and agricultural research." Current gene sketches have been entered into public free databases for use by scientists around the world. Scientists began implementing the $53 million international project in December 2003 to draw a variety of genetic maps of cattle, this time drawing a sketch of the Hertford cattle gene. Then we need to sort the genes of 6 other breeds of cattle.
