Beijing banned the sale of bulk edible oils yesterday

Zhang Zhikuan, director of the city's food office, revealed in the report that in order to ensure the safety of edible oil, the sale of bulk edible oil is prohibited on the Beijing market. The reporter learned from the market concentration areas such as Chaoyang and Fengtai that bulk oil has already exited the large wholesale market.

According to the results of uniform sampling and continuous monitoring of food safety in Beijing, in the first half of this year, the city's food safety sampling rate reached 97.36%, including rice, wheat flour, edible vegetable oil, vegetables, pork, and beans included in national economic and social development indicators. The qualified rate of food safety inspections for 6 key foods of products reached 98.23%. When talking about edible oil safety, Zhang Zhikuan said that Beijing strictly regulates the purchase channels of special edible oils such as shopping malls and supermarket staple foods, and strictly prohibits the sale of bulk edible oils in the market. The reporter learned that most of the bulk oil is stored in oil tanks, and most of them are sold through wholesale markets to large canteens and restaurants. The Beijing market is concentrated in Fengtai and Chaoyang. The relevant departments in the two regions have already fulfilled the requirements and bulk oil has already withdrawn from the market.

One-third of Beijing table cooking oil comes from the Yuquan Road grain and oil wholesale market. The person in charge of the market told the reporter that each of the original edible oil wholesale merchants has a fixed oil tank. In July, the market received a “prohibition of dispersal” notice. The tank has been removed. Currently, the market can only sell edible oils that are individually packaged and have plant names.

In addition, Zhang Zhikuan said that during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period, in order to ensure the supply of agricultural products to Beijing and the quality and safety level, Beijing has established a close regional cooperation relationship with the production bases in other regions, such as Zhangjiakou, Hebei and Henan, Shanxi, Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning. Shandong, Inner Mongolia and other places to build vegetables, pigs, poultry, dairy cattle and cattle and sheep breeding base. The edible agricultural products entering Beijing should come from large-scale, standardized bases and establish a stable signing relationship with the Beijing market. The products have been certified as pollution-free or green foods at or above the provincial level, and production certificates and inspection reports have been imported into the market.
