On the morning of October 19, the 6th China Shijiazhuang International Medicine Expo 2011, hosted by the provincial government, was jointly organized by the Shijiazhuang Municipal Government and the Provincial Department of Health, the Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Provincial Food and Drug Administration. Sun Ruibin, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Shijiazhuang Municipal Party Committee, and Hou Zhikui, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, jointly kicked off the Drug Fair.

Shijiazhuang is an important global base for the production of vitamins and antibiotics, the nation’s largest pharmaceutical industrial base, an important modern Chinese medicine production base, and the first batch of national biological industrial bases. There are currently 136 biomedical enterprises above the scale, employing 65,000 people, in 2010. The added value of 15.1 billion yuan was realized. At present, the city is accelerating the transformation and upgrading of the pharmaceutical industry, surpassing catch-up, and accelerating the construction of the Chinese biomedical industry base with Hebei (Shijiazhuang) high-end pharmaceutical industrial park as its core, and devoting itself to creating the most influential high-end pharmaceutical industrial cluster in the country.

The Drug Expo is an international and professional exhibition that focuses on cultivating trade negotiations, exhibitions, and exchanges and cooperation in Shijiazhuang City in recent years. This year's theme is “Showing Pharmaceutical Achievements, Promoting Collaborative Innovation,” and aims to focus on display. The international and domestic biopharmaceutical industry has developed new products, new technologies and new achievements, built platforms for innovation, exchange and cooperation, and promoted economic and trade exchanges and cooperation. This year's Pharmaceutical Expo has set up 15 special booths and 268 standard booths, which attracted more than 200 pharmaceutical companies such as Tianjin Pharmaceutical Group, Chongqing Pedetsu Pharmaceutical, Harbin Pharmaceutical Group, Hua Yao, and Shi Yao.

As the province is making great efforts to develop the service outsourcing industry, the agreement signed by the Provincial Service Trade Association and the Taiwan Industry and Commerce Construction Research Association to establish a service outsourcing cloud platform in Hebei Province has attracted the attention of the industry.

The cooperation agreement signed at the drug expo also included the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Research Association and Shijiazhuang High-tech Zone co-signing the "Taiwan-Shijiazhuang Pharmaceutical and Health Industry Service Cooperation Promotion Framework Agreement"; Hebei Province and China's Cross-Strait Medical and Health Industry Development Association Signed the "Taiwan-Hebei Pharmaceutical and Health Industry Service Cooperation Promotion Framework Agreement"; Hebei Province Service Trade Association and Taiwan Industry and Commerce Construction Research Association signed the "Agreement on the Construction of Hebei Province Service Outsourcing Cloud Platform Agreement"; Shijiazhuang Dongfang Jiacheng Trading Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Lifeforce Bio-Technology Co., Ltd. jointly signed the Hebei Regional Strategic Cooperation Agreement; Shenzhen Sanjiu Pharmaceutical Trading Company and Hebei Maike Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. signed the "New Tailin Product Sales Agency Agreement".
