Barco establishes flagship case base in a large comprehensive hospital in Belgium

Medical imaging specialist Barco has expanded its clinical collaboration network with a new customer case base at Dienst Medische Beeldvorming, which is part of the AZ Groeninge General Hospital in Cotrick, Belgium. Under the plan, Barco will further strengthen its collaboration with the clinical end-user community.

As a global case base, Dienst Medische Beeldvorming (Medical Imaging) has adopted the latest diagnostic display technology, including the world's first 6 megapixel color diagnostic image display system. In addition, the division launched the Barco MediCal QAWeb solution for non-interference calibration, quality assurance and asset management. The project will continue to be implemented when AZ Groeninge Hospital and Dienst Medische Beeldvorming move to a new location on the outskirts of Cotrick (just in close proximity to Barco's headquarters).

Dienst Medische Beeldvorming from AZ Groeninge Hospital is an old Barco customer who has been using Coronis 2MP, 3MP and 5MP Mammo displays throughout the radiology department for many years. As a Barco case base, it will now deploy the Coronis Fusion 6MP DL innovative display system in the reading room, where radiologists can interpret advanced modalities (eg X-ray, CT, MRI, PET-CT, US and Multiple (color and grayscale, moving and still) images of angiography.

Under the customer case agreement, Barco has new opportunities to interact directly with the clinical end user community.
