Inspiration when caring for a 7-year-old boy
Yang Xiangying is the supervisor of the rehabilitation department of the First Hospital of the city. In addition to nursing, he also teaches work. It is a good helper for the head nurse Xu Yuehua.
"We have 32 beds in the department, 13 nurses, usually full of patients, most of them are dysfunctional patients." Yang Xiangying said that more than 80% of patients with stroke, followed by elderly patients, over 60 years old Most of them can only lie on the bed all day.
In June last year, Yang Xiangying, the backbone of the department, went to the two national rehabilitation specialist nurse training base hospitals in Jiaxing and Wuhan. This boy is the youngest patient in the rehabilitation department. Because the cerebral infarction has a hemiplegia on one side, he is hospitalized for rehabilitation. Hemiplegia time is long, the muscles of the upper and lower limbs are paralyzed, the shoulder joint on the hemiplegia side is prone to subluxation, and the arm will be swollen and painful. Yang Xiangying thought at the time that if an anti-biased shoulder device could be invented and the shoulder on one side would be lifted up, the incidence of shoulder-hand syndrome could be reduced.
This initial inspiration later made one of her 14 nursing invention patents.
Her invention is also patient dignity
Combining nursing experience, using rehabilitation techniques and mechanics principles, Yang Xiangying draws pictures and writes improved methods. By the Spring Festival of 2016, she had invented 11 patents and won three invention patents this year.
Yang Xiangying’s earliest invention was called “Back Cleansing Massage Device for Upper Limb Activity Disordersâ€. Washing the back, normal people also feel tired, not to mention the upper limb mobility disorder patients.
"Bathing is about the dignity of the patient." With this idea, Yang Xiangying designed this "bath artifact" for patients with hemiplegia and breast cancer. As long as the patient's arm can move slightly, you can use this "bath artifact" to complete the back bath. From the perspective of rehabilitation, the swing of one arm can also drive the muscles of the other arm.
In her invention, the most heart-warming is the “anti-clogging deviceâ€. This invention was because Yang Xiangying noticed the general problem of paralyzed patients. Most patients with sputum have swallowing dysfunction, and it is generally necessary to insert a stomach tube through the nasal cavity to inject fluid food. In daily care, the family members often do not grind the food carefully, resulting in blockage of the stomach tube.
"Change a stomach tube, it costs money and increases the pain of the patient. As long as a strainer is added, the food that has not been broken will not enter the stomach tube and cause blockage." Yang Xiangying is installed at the front end of the ordinary food feeder. The temperature control device of the filter. The reason for temperature control is that the food that is overheated damages the gastric mucosa. This design was inspired by the color-changing spoon used by her children.

The 14 invention patents reflect Yang Xiangying's nuances and professional understanding of nursing as a woman. Women tend to wet the bed, causing dermatitis, so she designed a female urinary device with leakage prevention, ventilation and other functions; in order to prevent pressure sores, she invented a special bed for hemiplegia patients with massage, weighing and anti-pressure sores. After more than a year of hard work, Yang Xiangying was overcome by a single problem, in exchange for a thick stack of dark green cover patent certificates.
