In the early spring and autumn and winter, sheep can only eat half full. Sheep that are seriously deprived of nutrition grow slowly and are prone to illness.
If it is found that the height of the grazing has not reached the maximum level before dark, it is necessary to supplement the quality of the grass. When feeding nightgrass to sheep, salt should be sprinkled on the grass. It is advisable for the adult sheep to have 5 to 6 grams per night and the lambs should be reduced. If there isn't enough grass, you should add about 0.5kg of fine material and appropriate amount of green vegetables when feeding hay. One month before the slaughter of meat sheep, concentrates should be added to the feed at a rate of about 1 kg per night. The rams should be fed a good amount of fine grass every night and sprinkle 15 grams of salt in the grass, 1 kg of concentrate feed and 1% of bone meal. 20 days before ewe mating, each sheep's forage should be mixed with about 0.1 kg of fine material each night; 0.3 kg is added during the middle of pregnancy; and 0.4 kg is added during the latter part of pregnancy. In the pre-lactation period, about 0.5 kg was blended. About 0.7 kg of twins were mixed. The mid-lactation period was reduced, and supplementation was stopped during the late period of lactation.
