Professor Wang Wen from the National Center for Cardiovascular Disease explained that because there are some subjective human factors in traditional mercury-containing sphygmomanometers, there are some differences in the measured values, such as the effects of environmental noise, excessive speed when the doctor deflates, and reading preferences. Causes an error in the blood pressure value. The advantage of the electronic sphygmomanometer is that it can accurately measure the instantaneous changes in blood pressure. The "China Hypertension Prevention Guidelines 2010" pointed out that the use of validated (British Hypertension Society, the United States Medical Device Testing Association and the European Society of Hypertension) upper-arm automatic or semi-automatic electronic blood pressure monitor can accurately measure blood pressure.

Professor Wang Wen pointed out that there is basically no difference in accuracy between the electronic sphygmomanometer and the mercury sphygmomanometer. In the near future, the electronic sphygmomanometer will be combined with wireless communication technology, and the blood pressure data measured by the patient at home can be immediately transmitted to the doctor.
