Timely control of grape worms

In recent years, grape-winged moths have occurred on many vineyards and garden grapes in Xuzhou, mainly causing damage to grapevines, resulting in reduced yields and even death of whole plants.

Grape larvae endanger vine twigs and 1-2 year old twigs with larvae. The first instar larvae break into young shoots and feed on the pith to make the shoots die. When the larvae grow up, they go to the more dense branches and become harmed. The affected area is swollen, and there are brown granular insects outside the boreholes. The nearby leaves turn yellow and the fruits fall off. The stems are easily broken.

In the Xuzhou region, the grape-winged moths generally occur for one generation each year. The mature larvae live in the vines for winter, and in the second year of May, they begin to phlegm. In the middle and late May to mid-to-late June, the feathers fall into the same period as the flowering period. Adult fly ability, daytime activities. Eggs are produced on shoots, petioles, and veins of young shoots. Generally, 20–27 eggs are laid by each female. Larval larvae eat food after hatching, from September to October in winter with mature larvae.

Prevention and treatment of grapes through the wing moth should be combined with manual killing and drug control. (1) Manually kill. From mid-May to July, when the shoots were frequently inspected for new shoots, the shoots were cut off and concentrated deep. If the branch is larger, it can be used to pierce the larvae. In addition, it can be trimmed in combination with autumn and winter seasons to remove the vines that have larvae in their swollen areas and burn them together. (2) Drug control. In mid-May to late June, spraying with diflubenzuron and other insecticides. For the infected coarse vines, use a cotton ball impregnated with dichlorvos diluted solution into the wormhole, or use a syringe to inject a suitable amount of liquid, and then seal the wormhole with slime.
